Reverbols
About
Reverbols is an independent editorial index of hotels. It is not affiliated with any hotel, group or booking platform, and it does not accept payment for inclusion. The index exists because most hotel listings answer the question how much long before they answer the question what is this place, and we wanted something that only does the second.
What it covers
Four categories, fixed: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. These were chosen because each is defined by something structural — a building, a format, a facility, a season — rather than by price band or location. A property appears in one category only, under whichever of those things most shapes a night there.
How entries are written
Each entry is a short piece of prose about the building and how it works, followed by a few fact-tags. We write to a general, durable level of detail: the shape of a property, its setting, the logic of its rooms. Things that change — rates, opening hours, which restaurant is currently operating — are left to the hotel to publish.
What it deliberately leaves out
There are no star ratings, no scores, no user reviews and no ranking of one property against another. There is no booking engine and no availability search. We do not claim to be comprehensive; the index is short on purpose, and grows slowly.
Geography
Reverbols is geographically neutral. Entries are drawn from wherever the category leads — the capsule format is concentrated in Japan, ice hotels sit inside the Arctic winter, art hotels turn up wherever an interesting building has been converted. No country is treated as the home market.
